Ascending your axies is a crucial part of the axie progression system. Each axie ascension will allow you to evolve one part of the axie to level 2 parts, for a current maximum of three parts at the 3rd ascension.
An axie will be eligible to evolve parts for evolution by reaching certain levels:
Aside from the level requirements, upgrading parts will also require materials, which can primarily be earned by releasing axies. Check our Axie Evolution Overview for more information on axie part evolution.
Experience Points gained by some axies from older axie experiences were converted to AXP in the new system. The Experience Points had been converted at a 1:1 ratio, which means these axies received 100% of their old Experience Points as AXP. Legacy EXP is capped at 35,156 EXP, which is equal to a max of 35,156 AXP when converted.
Ascension and Parts Evolution
Axies must ascend at levels 9, 19, 29, 39, and so on to continue gaining AXP. The current max level for axies is capped at level 60. For example, when your axies reaches max AXP threshold at level 9, you have to ascend that axie to be able to continue gaining AXP and level up.
Step 1: Go to the Inventory page on your App.Axie profile.
Step 2: Click Manage axie on the axie you want to ascend.
Step 3: On the axie management page, click Ascend and sign the transaction.
