Axie Origins will enter maintenance mode on April 3rd at 03:30 UTC to kick off Season 8.

Over the last week, we have shared with you updates that we were planning to implement during Origins Season 8.

The purpose of informing you about these planned changes is to encourage the community to share their thoughts and feedback. As you may have noticed, we share all changes before they go live, rather than releasing them without first allowing the community to review them.

We highly value the community’s feedback. That's why we are implementing the following changes, to ensure you have the best experience possible in the upcoming season.

Leaderboards Reward Distribution

Last week, we announced plans to extend the rewards to the Top 100k players. However, based on community feedback, we have decided to adjust the rewards to Top 30k only. Additionally, we've adjusted the structure to more generously reward the middle of the leaderboard, in comparison to the previous season.

The rewards for the top positions have been reduced to allocate more to the middle ranks. We believe that ladder rewards should be as inclusive as possible, allowing the broader community to benefit, while top 8 Leaderboard Players also get to receive additional rewards through the Elite 8 Tournament

For Season 8, we're also excited to announce an increase in the prize pool for the Elite 8 to 3000 AXS.

• 81,133 AXS will be allocated for S8 Leaderboards.
• Top 30K players will receive AXS rewards in the S8 Leaderboards.
• Elite 8 for S8 will have 3,000 AXS in Prize pool. This gives the top players chance to increase their total rewards for S8.
• Relative to S7, majority of players will enjoy an increased reward share across the board with more weightage towards the middle tiers.
• Players need to be at Boar rank or above at the end of the era to be eligible to receive AXS prizes.

Collectible Events

Following community feedback, we're also making adjustments to the collectible events for Season 8.

• Collectible Chests will return in Season 8, featuring a reward pool of 7,000 AXS. The criteria for qualification and the method for distributing rewards will be similar to Season 7, but with the introduction of one new condition:

  • New Condition: Players must hold the collectible from the start to the end of an era to be eligible for a Collectible Chest for that era. This updates the previous requirement, which necessitated holding the collectible only during the last 3 days of the era.

  

• The Free Runes & Charms Box for Collectors returns! To qualify, players must also adhere to the new condition above, holding the collectible from the start to the end of an era. The exception is for the Rare era: possession of the collectible at 03:30 UTC on April 3rd will qualify you for a box. Given the return of Runes & Charms boxes, Collectible Missions will not be featured in Season 8.
